Smoothie Hydration

Even though it's winter and not warm enough to perspire frequently, walking around dehydrated remains a wellness concern. Besides the drying effects of a heated environment, we drink more warm caffeinated beverages, hot coffee, tea, hot cocoa, more coffee. Balance these diuretic beverages with nourishing fluids.

If you are negligent about drinking water, start the day with a smoothie.
Sparo's coveted recipe follows,

Soak some raw almonds overnight.
In the blender, start with some of the almonds and 1 cup water.
Add some frozen fruit:
Gala Apples or bananas (not frozen) are great for bulk.
Berries for sweetness.
Note: If you use fresh fruit, add a handful of ice.
Add peanut butter, 1-2 tsps.
Dash of cinnamon.
Few chocolate chips
1-2 Tbs of ground flaxseed or wheat germ.
Yogurt if you've got it.

Sparo's other recommend ingredients
1/2 tsp of spirulina (yes the drink turns green)
1 TBS honey
1 scoop of your drink powder of choice.
As noted in a past post, I add a few things from the farm, few kale leaves, some small carrots or
white salad turnips.

Oh yes, dumpling.

Hands on learning, especially when cooking, provides the best education. Dumplings require 2 skills to master. Concocting a delicate filling by dicing and seasoning ingredients. Then commit to a critical many; carefully folding each dumpling.
