Thomas Jefferson - President and pea-counter.

Last May while in the great state of VA, M and I squeezed in a side trip to Monticello. We didn't get inside the mansion, but the gardens were beautiful! The weekend already had a historical spin. The family wrote it's own history when cousins Alex and Paul married. However, Monticello gardeners have the unique task of preserving heirloom vegetables recreated from Thomas Jefferson's meticulous gardening records. Listen here as reported on All Things Considered.
